Assessing Your Claim

To be eligible to make a compensation claim, another driver must be fully or partially at fault for your injuries.

To determine who is at fault for the crash, we gather information from people involved in the crash, and other sources. For example, this includes:

  • Online Crash Report Form from involved parties;
  • Witness statements;
  • Your claim form;
  • Police reports, etc.

We endeavour to gather this information and establish who is at fault for your crash as soon as possible after the date of claim lodgement.

Once we have the information we need and have made a decision, we will advise you in writing. If we partially accept or do not accept your claim, we will explain our decision.

DID YOU KNOW?

It is a criminal offence to provide false or misleading statements and information on an insurance claim.

People who make false insurance claims or exaggerate the extent of injuries on their claims defraud the Insurance Commission and increase the cost of insurance for all Western Australian motorists.
