Why do I pay for MII insurance?

Motor Injury Insurance (MII) is compulsory and  provides owners and drivers of Western Australian licensed vehicles with cover for personal injuries they may cause to others in a motor vehicle crash anywhere in Australia.  It also provides cover for catastrophic injuries they or any other person sustain in a motor vehicle crash in WA where either they are a driver at fault or unable to prove the fault of another driver.

MII insurance applies to all vehicles upon licensing, making it convenient and effective for you to insure your vehicle and yourself against liability for personal injury caused to third parties and for catastrophic injuries sustained by you or any other person where you are either a driver at fault or unable to prove the fault of another driver.
