Government Insurance
The Insurance Commission administers the self-insurance scheme of the Government of WA.
The scheme provides insurance for the departments and agencies who contribute to the RiskCover Fund.
The insurance for each department and agency who use in the RiskCover Fund is tailored to the agency’s needs.
They may have cover for:
- Workers compensation in case their employees are injured in a workplace accident;
- Property and business interruption insurance to protect against damage or loss of buildings, infrastructure and contents;
- Motor vehicle insurance for their motor fleets;
- Liability insurance in case of an injury or loss to a third party;
- Cyber insurance to protect against liability arising from cyber events; and
- Specific Specialised insurance to meet agencies unique operating risks including:
- travel for government employees; and
- personal accident cover for volunteers.
