The Insurance Commission provided RugbyWA $600,000 in sponsorship to promote Belt up between 2014 and 2016.

Rugby has a high participation rate of young males:

  • Over 48,000 participants;
  • 30 senior rugby clubs; and
  • 110 registered teams.

Belt up is promoted through RugbyWA’s strong player and support networks, including:

  • Belt up branded equipment distributed to school programs, junior and senior rugby clubs:
    • 2,159 rugby balls;
    • 208 hit shields;
    • 38 sandwich boards; and
    • 90 gear bags.
  • Annual Belt up round;
  • Senior Rugby Grand Final Weekend;
  • Community Grand Finals Weekend;
  • Clough Pursuit of Excellence School Program;
  • Western Force and RugbyWA player appearances; and
  • Western Force Super Rugby home games.
