Swimming WA

Commencing in 2024, the Insurance Commission and Swimming WA partnership brings road safety messaging to one of Western Australia’s largest and most diverse sporting communities. Swimming WA supports more than 10,000 members across 80 affiliated clubs -31 metropolitan and 49 regional -with continued growth through the enrolment of new regional clubs.

As Major Sponsor of Swimming WA, the Insurance Commission’s Belt Up message is embedded across grassroots programs, major events and digital platforms. This includes the distribution of more than 8,000 Belt Up–branded items per year, including kickboards and swim caps used at club, school and state-wide events.

The partnership is highly visible through Australia’s largest open water swimming series, a nine-event calendar that attracts thousands of participants each season. The dedicated Belt Up Round anchors road safety awareness within the series, which records over 2,500 unique participations per season. Additional reach is delivered through the Belt Up Country Pennants, interschool championships, pool meets, development programs and the Swimming WA Awards of Excellence program.

Through extensive branding, digital campaigns, event activations and direct communication with metropolitan and regional clubs, this partnership connects road safety with sport - helping swimmers, families and volunteers across Western Australia remember to Belt Up every trip, every time.
