Western Australian Cricket Association (WA Cricket)

Cricket as a summer sport helps give Belt up prominence throughout the year. WA Cricket has significant reach across WA with a strong regional presence:
- Over 200,000 participants, including 40,000 club and community participants;
- 429 member clubs; and
- 49 member associations.
To ensure it is a sport for all, WA Cricket offers a pathway for cricketers with disability through the inclusive Belt Up Integrated Cricket League. For the modified format game, the Insurance Commission funds independence-enabling equipment, including visual aids, different-sized balls and customised bats.
In addition, statewide cricketing initiatives spread the Belt Up message:
- Belt Up Helmets Program for community cricketers;
- Two-day Belt Up Round for Premier Cricket;
- Belt Up Country Cup and Belt up CricketWest Cup competitions;
- WA Cricket website and social media; and
- WA Cricket publications.
Providing helmets to reduce head injuries on the cricket field is a similar aim to Belt Up’s objective to lessen car crash injuries.
