The Insurance Commission manages the Catastrophic Injuries Support (CIS) scheme providing lifetime care and support for people catastrophically injured in crashes in WA.
We engage daily with people who have been injured in those crashes and their families, and expect to have a lifelong relationship with them.
Innovative technologies and care and rehabilitation approaches have the potential to increase the independence of people catastrophically injured.
The Insurance Commission supports care innovation to:
- Increase the independence of individuals with injuries caused from motor vehicle crashes and workplace accidents;
- Reduce effort for carers and the burden on families;
- Keep insurance premium rates affordable for Western Australian drivers and agencies; and
- Lower costs for insurers.
