Care Innovation

The Insurance Commission manages the Catastrophic Injuries Support (CIS) scheme providing lifetime care and support for people catastrophically injured in crashes in WA.

We engage daily with people who have been injured in those crashes, and their families, and expect to have a lifelong relationship with them.

A goal of ours is focusing on helping people injured on the road or at work get back home, back to work, and to be as independent as possible. We strive for improved inclusion opportunities throughout the community.

The Insurance Commission supports inclusion to:

  • Improve the health and wellbeing of people injured in motor vehicle and workplace accidents;
  • Support the communities in which we operate;
  • Return people with injuries back home, to work and to the community; and
  • Enable enhanced independence outcomes for claimants.
