How to claim
If you’d like to seek financial support while you recover from your motor injuries, follow these three simple steps:
- Collate all the details of the crash you have available, including:
- the time and date of the crash
- what happened
- the name and address of the driver/s, anyone injured and any witnesses
- any photos and dash cam footage
- any details of your injury.
- Visit crashreport.com.au and select either:
- Report a crash/make an injury claim (if you were a driver)
- Notify injuries (if you were a passenger, pedestrian or cyclist).
- Fill out the online form and provide details of the crash.
- Allow about 40 minutes.
- It is easier using a laptop.
- You cannot save a partially completed form and then resume later. It needs to be completed and submitted in one go.
- Try to include as many details as possible, as this will help us assess your eligibility for support quicker.
- Don't worry if you can't remember everything. We can follow for more information c later.
- Submit the form.
We will them assess the information you have submitted and determine what assistance we can provide. We will send you:
- An email or SMS confirming we have received your crash report
- A unique treatment number
- A link to download a digital claiming card, which enables treatments to be paid by us via your smart phone.
- Information about what treatment we can pay for. This is to ensure you can get early treatment to help you recover as quickly as possible.
Find out how to use your treatment number or digital claiming card for payments at medical and allied health appointments.
If you have already paid for treatment before submitting your crash report, you can also seek a reimbursement.
Other injured passengers
Every injured person needs to notify us of their injury to claim support. If a child is injured, their parent or guardian needs to notify us via crashreport.com.au to claim support for them.
Although the driver may include passenger details in their "Report a crash", this does NOT initiate a claim for anyone other than the driver.
